His teacher was nice enough to let their class hatch chicks not only once but twice. The first time they didn't make it cuz someone turned up the heat. The kids were so dissapointed the teacher was willing to do it again if the kids would donate one dollar to bring one home. Colton was so excited and worried that he would miss out. He kept telling me it was for those who got their money in first. I had reservations and wasn't too excited about the idea so I left it up to Dave and he of course said yes, so Colton got his money in and couldn't wait for the day to come. Well, the day came, the chicks started hatching Friday morning and ready to come home. A note was sent home saying they could come pick them up that night and it was first come first serve so once again Cole couldn't wait to get there and was watching the clock like a hawk and was on top of Dave to get out the door so they wouldn't be late. Luckily they got there just in time cuz Cole got the last one ready to go that night. His teacher told him he could wait until tomorrow cuz more would hatch that night but he was determinded to bring one home right then. Dave said he over heard two kids saying that one's gonna die so Dave tried to get him to wait, but Dave said there was no talking him out of it cuz he was so stinkin' excited. It was a little scrawny looking and not real strong so we are a little worried for the first night....
Anyway, here is Colton with his new chick. Isn't it cute?!?
